I joined Ford Motor Company in 1985 after graduating with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Penn State. While at Ford, I completed my M.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Although my degrees are in engineering, I spent my career in Information Technology.

Jeff and I were married in 1991 and moved to the City of Plymouth in 1998 with our three sons, who were then ages 1, 3, and 5. Our decision to move here was intentional; we had close friends in the area and often spent time in Plymouth. What attracted me most was the tight-knit community. Families were out on their porches, working in their yards, walking their dogs, and everyone knew each other. This sense of community remains special to me.

Over the years, the world has changed significantly, and the City of Plymouth has not only adapted but has become a vibrant hub of activity. I found this evolution fascinating. As my family and career demanded less of my time, I grew more interested in the workings of our city. I applied to volunteer on a board or commission with the city and was appointed to the Planning Commission in March of 2016. I served as the Chair of the Planning Commission from January of 2019 until deciding to retire at the end of my term in December of 2024. I learned a significant amount over the 8 years serving on the commission and made many good friends. If you would like to serve your community and have the time I strongly encourage you to consider applying to volunteer on a board or commission.

While the city excels in many areas, I have recently found myself questioning some prominent issues. When something I care about piques my curiosity, I dig deep to uncover the facts and find answers.

I have decided to create this blog for two main reasons. First, because I believe an informed community is an engaged community. Second, in our digital world, the overwhelming amount of information can often lose its significance. People frequently lack the time to sift through all the available material to find what truly matters. I believe the topics I have investigated will resonate with others in the community, and my goal is to provide concise, relevant, and valuable information.
